  Welcome to the Digital Lab

The digital lab was created to assist faculty, staff and students develop computer based instuction, scan images, create cd-roms and digitize videos. The digital lab equipment was purchased by the Center for Distance Learning and Telehealth and placed in the library on the 2nd floor for maximum access. The primary focus of use should be on distance learning and telehealth projects directed towards South Texas but use of the equipment is available to all faculty, staff and students of the Health Science Center.

Station 2 (Flatbed Scanner with OCR)

Epson Expression 1600 with Transparency Unit and Adobe Photoshop 6.0

Dell OptiPlex GX400, 1.7 GHz, 512 MB RAM - Win2K

Station 3 (Mac with Flatbed Scanner and OCR)

Epson Expression 1680 with Transparency Unit and Adobe Photoshop 7.0

Quicksilver G4, Dual 1GHz, 512 MB RAM - MacOS 9.2

  Policy:

Users are encouraged to make resevations and are made for up to 4 hours per day.

Users must sign for the stations at the front desk.

The equipment is available to all UTHSCSA Faculty, staff and students.

  Priority of use:

• South Texas Distant Learning and Telehealth related work
• University related work
• User status (faculty, staff, student)

  Hours of Availibilty:

The lab may be used at any time the library is open.
