Computer Based Instruction
- Access Medicine
- Collection of full text books from McGraw-Hill including access to USMLEasy, an online testing service to help prepare students for Step 1 and Step 2 USMLE exams.
- Basic Genetics
- An online course covering the basic concepts of genetics and non-Mendelian inheritance.
- Bates' Visual Guide to Physical Examiniation
- Set of 14 videos demonstrating physical exam skills. Each video covers a different body system.
- Clinical Human Embryology
- Explores the development of human systems from conception to birth.
- CLIPP (Computer-assisted Learning in Pediatrics Program)
- A comprehensive Internet-based learning program for use by third-year medical students during their pediatric clerkship. CLIPP contains 31 interactive virtual patient cases that are designed to cover all of the core content of the curriculum of the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP). To access, you must register for an account using your uthscsa.edu e-mail address. Each case takes about 45 minutes to complete
- DermIS
- A comprehensive online dermatology information service for healthcare professionals and patients. Contains information about specific conditions as well as an adult and pediatric atlas.
- Embryo Images
- A website tutorial that uses scanning electron micrographs (SEMs) as the primary resource to teach mammalian embryology.
- Exam Master Online
- Covers all 3 steps of the USMLE, over 12,000 examination questions.
- ExamMaster is only available to UTHSCSA students, faculty, and staff. View the ExamMaster Quick Guide.
- Free USMLE Practice Tests
- Includes self-assessment and study/review sections.
- Human Anatomy
- An interactive gross anatomy program comprised of over 9000 images of the human body in various stages of dissection.
- Interactive Dermatology Atlas
- The Dermatology Atlas is meant as a complete reference of common and uncommon conditions involving the skin.
- Internet Pathology Laboratory for Medical Education, The
- This popular web resource includes over 1900 images along with text, tutorials, laboratory exercises, and examination items for self-assessment that demonstrate gross and microscopic pathologic findings associated with human disease conditions.
- Lab Training Library
- The Lab Training Library serves the clinical laboratory by providing interactive training programs to help build and maintain staff competency.
- Note: The Lab Training Library works only on a PC with Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 5.0 or higher and MS Windows Media Player, 6.4 or higher. There is no Macintosh access, and the program does not work with Firefox or Netscape.
- Microscopic Anatomy
- Incorporates digitized histologic slides and electron micrographs with comprehensive text to provide an interactive cellular anatomy tutorial.
- Net Anatomy
- NetAnatomy is designed to teach human anatomy to students of the health professions, including undergraduate medical, health sciences, and nursing students.
- Individuals are authorized to view the material on the NetAnatomy.com website solely for personal noncommercial use. You are allowed to print individual pages or screens from the website using your web browser’s Print command for noncommercial educational purposes. No content may be distributed in a website without prior written permission of SES.
- Radiologic Anatomy
- Interactive program covering the fundamentals of normal radiology.
- Winkingskull.com - Anatomy Resource
- Winkingskull.com is a free, interactive human anatomy study aid. Winkingskull includes a feature to print images for flashcard study. Registration is suggested and free.

- You can look up a course page by listing courses by department, by instructor's last name, or use ERes QuickSearch.

- APGO Residency Directory
- The Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) is a non-profit, membership-based organization for women's health educators.
- Password Protected: Obtain this code by contacting the Information Desk Staff.
- HIPAA Training
- Online training modules for Level 1 and Level 3 are available.
- Library Resources for USMLE Step 1
- The Library put together a list of reference books and other electronic resources for First year Medical Students studying for Step 1, please check the library's catalog for other materials as well as current status of these items.
- Microsoft CEA Agreement for Students
- The HSC has a volume licensing agreement for several Microsoft products, which allows students, faculty, and staff to purchase these products for $5 per CD (some titles include several CDs). Students must fill out the Student EULA found on this page and take it (and their student ID) to the Bookstore when making their first purchase under this agreement.
- Print From Your Laptop at the Library
- Learn how to install the software on your laptop to print at Library computers. In order to print from your computer at the Library, you need to install software. Get the directions online and be ready to print in no time.
- South Texas Clinical Resources
- This collection of clinical resources was collected by the Ad Hoc Committee for Access to Quality Clinical Information on the Internet, made up of employees of the Health Science Center, University Health System, and VA Hospital.
- Stat!Ref Electronic Medical Library
- Stat!Ref Electronic Medical Library provides quick access to a number of full-text medical reference books covering the areas of diagnosis and treatment in a variety of medical specialties, such as Psychiatry, Geriatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cardiology, and Surgery. Texts on coding, drug information, and abbreviations and acronyms are also available. Users can search for information in one or multiple resources or use the Table of Contents feature to browse.

- SUMSearch
- SUMSearch is an Internet search engine for medical knowledge developed at the UT Health Science Center by Dr. Robert Badgett. It selects the best resources among several full-text books and biomedical databases for the question, formats the question for each resource, and makes additional searches based on results.

- Note: If the number on your ID badge is longer than 9 digits, it is not your "HSC Badge Number". If you don't know your HSC Badge Number, try your Social Security Number instead.

- Secure access to student information such as: Academic Calendars and Class Schedules; Course Catalog; Student Records (includes grades, transcripts, and holds, such as parking, fees due, etc.); and Financial Aid information. Note: After you log into inside.uthscsa (using your NT username and password), look in the Portal Menu (at the left) for "Student Admin".
