Driving Directions for the Laredo Campus Extension Library

The Laredo Campus Extension Library (LCE) is on the first floor of the LCE Academic Building. The address is 1937 East Bustamante Street in Laredo.

From IH-35, exit at Highway 59 (Saunders Street) in Laredo. After passing Laredo Medical Center on the left, turn left onto Bartlett Avenue. The LCE is at the corner of Bartlett Avenue and Bustamente Street.

El Metro, the Laredo bus system, routes 3, 5, 6, and 8A provide stops on campus. For more information and bus maps, click here.

Please note, the library is closed weekdays between 12 noon and 1:00 pm.

Card swipe access is available after regular library hours to UT HSC students and affiliated personnel with a valid HSC ID.

Library Collection

The Laredo Campus Extension Library has full access to the electronic resources licensed by The Libraries. In addition, the library has a variety of print books and journals and a collection of consumer health materials.

Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan

Books, articles, journals and other library materials located at the Briscoe Library in San Antonio may be requested by Laredo Campus Extension personnel at no charge through Document Delivery. Materials not owned by the UTHSCSA Libraries may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. There may be no charge for some Interlibrary Loan materials. Please contact Linda Levy at levy@uthscsa.edu with questions. Articles not available online can usually be scanned and delivered electronically to the Laredo Campus Extension Library.

Computers

Wireless access is available in the library. Wireless users are requested to register their laptops to access the network. In Laredo, laptops can be registered by calling the Briscoe Library at (210) 567-2440.

Library computers are available with Internet, email, Microsoft Office products and provide access to all electronic resources available on the main campus. Printing is available in the Laredo Campus Extension Library.

Meetings at the Library

Meetings may be held in the Laredo Campus Extension Library. Study tables and chairs are available to all library visitors.

Training and Classes
