The Friends of the P. I. Nixon Medical Historical Library

VesaliusThe Friends of the P. I. Nixon Medical Historical Library is an organization which came into being to support this worthy collection and further the knowledge of the history of medicine. The Friends meet regularly for lectures, films, and dinners, with membership being open to anyone. Currently, the Nixon mailing list includes department and administrative heads, students, and a wide community of physicians and area health professionals.

The Friends Annual Newsletter gives a summary of recent Friends' activities and publicizes its major event of the year, the Friends' dinner-lecture in November. Exhibits on medical historical topics - often planned in conjunction with Friends' presentations - are researched and mounted by Pennie Borchers for the Health Science Center but are available as traveling exhibitions to other institutions as an educational service offered by the Library.

For information about past Friends' activities, previous newsletters are available online.
