UT Health Science Center Library - Downtown

The UT Health Science Center Library - Downtown is located in the University Health Center, Downtown, at 527 North Leona. The UT Health Science Center Library - Downtown is located on the 3rd Floor of the University Health Clinic-Downtown at 527 N. Leona. The Library has a small clinical collection of books and journals related to specialties practiced there, such as family medicine and adult general medicine and a small collection of consumer health materials for patient education and staff use. The Library also has full access to the electronic resources licensed by the UTHSCSA Libraries. The Library is staffed by Ron Mesa, Library Assistant and Linda Levy, Assistant Director for Branch Libraries and Database Services.

Circulation
UTHSCSA students, faculty and staff, University Health System staff have full borrowing privileges. Other persons must meet eligibility criteria. Circulation policies and loan periods are the same as at the main UTHSCSA Briscoe Library.

Briscoe Van Delivery Service
Books or journals not available at the UT Health Science Center Library - Downtown, but available for checkout at the main Briscoe Library, can be delivered to the UT Health Science Center Library - Downtown for you at no cost. Requests should be made at the front desk and are processed daily.

InterLibrary Loan
For items not owned by any of the UTHSCSA Libraries, the library staff can assist you with ordering items through InterLibrary Loan. Inquire at the desk about charges for this service.

Computers
There is one multipurpose public computer station at the UT Health Science Center Library - Downtown. This computer can be used for access to the Library's online catalog, for searching MEDLINE and other databases, and for searching the web. There is one other public computer station at the UT Health Science Center Library - Downtown. Users must have their own UHS user ID and password in order to use this computer.

Audiovisual Equipment
The Library provides access to a TV/VCR and a portable screen at the University Health Clinic-Downtown. Please inquire at the front desk if you wish to borrow the TV/VCR or other equipment. All equipment must remain at the University Health Clinic-Downtown.

Payment
Charges apply to some services. Payment may be made either in cash or by using an institutional account, VISA, Mastercard or Discover; however, minimum charges may apply. For details ask at the front desk.

Photocopy Services
One self-service photocopy machines are available for public use. Photocopies are 10¢ each. Reusable copy cards are available for purchase at the front desk.

Conference Room
There is a conference room at the UT Health Science Center Library - Downtown with seating for 6-10 people. Reservations may be made at the front desk.
