Borrower Categories and Privileges

Circulation privileges are available to all students, staff and faculty at the Health Science Center, and to all residents of Texas aged 18 or older who pay for an annual Courtesy Borrowers card.

Specific services available to users are based on the following borrower categories:

• UT HSC Borrowers: All UT HSC faculty, staff, students, and UHS residents and fellows.
• Affiliate Borrowers: University Health System staff.
  
• Area Health Care Professionals: Doctors, dentists, nurses, and any other health care professional licensed by and practicing or residing in the state of Texas.
• Retired UT HSC Personnel : Retired Faculty and Staff of the UT HSC.
• Faculty from Other Institutions: Faculty from selected institutions we have agreements with.
• Health Careers High School Students: Juniors and Seniors from Health Careers High School.
  
• Courtesy Borrowers: Any Texas resident (age 18 or older) not eligible under the categories above ($25 annual fee).
• TexShare: Faculty, Staff, Undergraduate and Graduate Students from many colleges and universities, both local and around the state, are eligible to borrow materials from the UT HSC Libraries.
